Chris Meyers Asch

A native of Washington, DC, Chris Myers Asch taught elementary and middle school for three years in Sunflower, MS as part of Teach for America/AmeriCorps. He co-founded the non-profit Sunflower County Freedom Project in 1998 and served as Executive Director until launching the US Public Service Academy Initiative in 2006.
Joe Begley

Joe Begley has been a professional soldier in the US Army since 1991. He served as an enlisted Military Policeman, and now serves as a Military Intelligence Officer where he works with other government agencies to stop the movement of illegal drugs into the United States. His deployments include Sinai Egypt (1992), Iraq (2004-2005), and Qatar. Joe currently lives and works in Southern Florida.
Jason "Jay" Blindauer

Jay Blindauer is native of Western Ohio, a graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati, and a 4th generation citizen-soldier. He has served as an Army Officer since 2001, including one peacetime deployment to Korea and 3 combat deployments to Iraq. He currently lives in Washington, DC.

Shelly Burgoyne is an Arizona native and a graduate of the University of Arizona. She served as an enlisted soldier in the Army and then as a Transportation Corps Officer from 2002-2006, including two combat tours in Iraq. She currently lives in California where she is pursuing a Masters Degree.

Andy Fuller is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and served over 4 years on active duty as a Field Artillery Officer in the US Army, including one 15-month tour in Iraq. He currently lives and works in Milwaukee, WI and serves part time in the Wisconsin Army National Guard.
Alexander "Alex" Gallo

Alex Gallo is a New Jersey native and a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served 5 years on active duty as a US Army Infantry Officer, including deployments to Kosovo (2002) and Iraq (2004-2005). He served 2 years as a reservist and currently instructs ROTC cadets at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Alex is currently pursuing an MPP at Harvard University.

Craig Germano, Sr. has been a financial manager with a Fortune 500 Company for over 30 years and is currently residing in Miami, FL. He served as an enlisted soldier in the US Army from 1971-73 and was stationed in the Federal Republic of Germany. In his spare time he enjoys volunteering as a kayak instructor for challenged young adults and wounded warriors.

John "Johnny" Kimball

Johnny Kimball is a Brooklyn, NY native and a graduate of Kansas State University. He has served in the US Army since 1993. For the first 9 years he was an enlisted Infantryman (Weapons Squad Leader, Jumpmaster, Drill Sergeant). In 2002 he became an Armor Officer and has since served 2 combat tours in Iraq. Johnny is currently assigned to Fort Hood, TX.
Michael "Mike" Lewis

Mike Lewis served in the US Army for 8 years, 3 on Active Duty and 5 in the Reserves, including tours in Bosnia and Iraq. He was a scout, and then became a counterintelligence agent. After leaving the Service, Mike became an intelligence analyst contractor and returned to Iraq in that role. He currently lives in Austin, TX and is pursuing a business degree at St. Edward's University.

She served in the Army as a Military Police Officer from 2001-2005, including one combat deployment to Iraq. She currently lives and works in Watertown, NY.

Chaplain Meier is a soldier in the California National Guard will deploy to Iraq in June 2008. Father Meier is a Roman Catholic priest and member of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). He holds a BA in music and biology (Kalamazoo College); an MA in philosophy (Loyola University, Chicago); an MS in biology (Georgetown University); a MDiv and a ThM (Weston Jesuit School of Theology); as well as a PhD in molecular neurobiology (Stanford University). At present, he is the Undergraduate Research Coordinator and Director of the Honors Program in Biology at Stanford University.

He served as an enlisted soldier in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves (1998-2002), as well as an Active Duty Infantry Officer from 2002-2006, including 2 combat tours in Iraq. He currently lives in Connecticut, works in New York, and is pursuing an MBA from the Salve Regina University (Newport, RI).

Matt Raymond is an Ohio native and a graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati. He has served in the US Army as a Cavalry Officer since 2003, including 1 combat tour in Iraq from 2004-2005. Matt is currently assigned to Fort Wainwright, AK and will return to Iraq in the Fall of 2008.

Casey Shuff is the US Army Europe Regional Desk Officer for the Balkans (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo). He is also an Officer in the Army Reserves, and served as an Active Duty Signal Corps Officer from 2001-2006, including one combat tour in Iraq. He holds a Masters in International Relations from the University of Oklahoma and is a graduate of Xavier University in Cincinnati. Though a native of Kentucky, Casey currently lives and works in Heidelberg, Germany.

Eric Sproesser is a Pennsylvania native and a graduate of Pennsylvania State University. He holds a Masters in International Affairs from Catholic University of America (Washington, DC). In 2002, Eric was commissioned as a US Army Armor Officer, served two combat tours in Iraq, and now lives in the Philadelphia area where he is currently a member of the New Jersey Army National Guard.
